A truly AMAZING Regional Meet competition transpired last weekend showcasing the depth and dominance of Saline’s elite pack. Cloud cover and drizzle didn’t dampen the spirits of our supersonic seven. Their level of readiness for the State Meet next Saturday, Nov. 3 at MIS is rock solid and the steady strength and speed has been unwavering. This marks Saline’s 6th consecutive Regional Championship and Alex Leptich reigned supreme with a glorious win in 18:45. Kate Carter placed 3rd in 18:58; Lindsey Cummings 6th overall in 19:26; Rachel Jackson was 7th in 19:32, which is a 2-second all-time PR; Erin Dowling came in 11th in 19:41, representing a 45-sec. all-time PR!!; Meagan Creutz finished in a sweet time of 19:42; and Kari Frank rounded out Saline’s stellar performance in 20:21. Our team was awarded the recognition of 6 All-Region athletes and brought home hardware including 13 medals and the Championship trophy!
The Regional Meet features a co-ed JV race that Mary O'Connell participated in and did a great job. She was strong and steady the entire race and finished with a 23:38 clocking. This represents a stellar effort as it was her mission to have one last racing opportunity her final season as a senior. She struggled with a stress fracture and is in the recovery and rebuilding mode after a tough few months. Congratulations, Mary, you true CC warrior! Coaches are very proud of you!!!
