I would be remiss if I launched into Meet highlights without pausing for a moment to reflect on the devastation and horrendous loss from senseless terrorism 6 years ago. The victims of that tragedy and their families remain in our hearts and thoughts and prayers. I hope that God has anointed them with a healing balm to help ease some of the pain and suffering. I feel such gratitude for the network of family and friends that we all share in this safe and wonderful little corner of the world.  God Bless us everyone. Amen.

The weather was so perfect Tuesday afternoon as if autumn arrived while we were at Rolling Hills Park. Gusty breezes, cool temps, beautiful and swirling cloud formations all contributing to a splendid experience when we all know that the first league meet is often stifling hot. So, indeed, we feel fortunate.

The Varsity race featured Leptich as the first place finisher in 19:37 which was solid and impressive. Carter sailed over the finish line in 20:11 claiming the 6th place spot with Cummings cruising through the course with a beautiful effort to finish 9th overall in a time of 20:30.  Creutz experienced some severe leg cramps so struggled with getting tight muscles to move during the final mile but is recovering, thank goodness.

Varsity team scores: Saline wins with 44 points followed by our new member of the RED division, Huron with 57 for an excellent 2nd place finish, in 3rd was Dexter garnering 58 points and Tecumseh with 88…both WHITE division teams. Jamboree II is on our home course at Mill Pond on October 2nd and will be a RED division race only.
