Team Awards
Welcome to the Saline Men's Cross Country Team Awards page. Here is a chronicle of all team award recipients since 1994.

Most Valuable Runner
Hardest Worker
Outstanding Draft Pick
Most Improved
Blue Arrow
This award is given to the athlete who contributed most to the team's winning races.  This is the one person that "made the difference" more than anyone else as regards the team's placing at meets and invitationals.  This is equivalent to the "MVP" award in other sports.
This award is given to the athlete who was the hardest worker day in and day out.  The athletes who are candidates for this award are the ones who rarely missed a practices, who practiced in the off season, and who ran the practices and competitions to his fullest potential whether or not he was in first place or last.
This award is given to the first time runner who made the most difference to the team.  That difference includes not only scoring but leadership and team spirit.  Candidates for this award are the athletes that come to mind when you reflect on the season and say to yourself, "I'm glad he came along.  What a difference he made as a first year runner!"
This award is given to the runner who made the most significant improvements from his previous year's performance or from the beginning of the season to the end.
The blue arrow is an award given to the athlete who made the most contributions to the team regarding team spirit, leadership, vision, and character.  The blue arrow recipient is an athlete who takes concern for other runners, upholds team traditions, workes hard consistently, is a role model for other athletes, and epitomizes the sport of Cross Country.
