Trophies to the top 3 teams in the Varsity race.
T-Shirts to members of the winning team.

Medals to the top 50 finishers in the varsity and reserve races.

Historical Notes: We came out to portage first in 1999. Our goal was to run the Rockford Rams (ranked 1st in the state). We ran the best race all year with 6 PR's and though we took 2nd, we were closer to the Rams than any team had been all year!

The Course...
The course is a 1.5 mile loop that winds around the school grounds of Portage West Middle School. It has some trails and a one rolling hill that you run twice. The course is well maintained and even "rolled" the night before so it is flat. This is a FAST course and a good chance for a PR!

Meet Notes:
-Portage is the largest cross country race in the midwest with some 8000 runners racing in about a billion different races. The field is good, but it is way too crowded.
-This meet is sponsored by Gazelle Sports and our top seven runners get free T-Shirts. The winning team gets a 2nd T-Shirt and a cool trophy.

-Our very own Andrew Harper set the Middle School record in 2005.
