Historical Listing of Saline Cross Country Captains

David Dolsen
|

David Dolsen was born in a humble log cabin deep in the mountains of northern South Dakota. By age 3, young Dolsen grew tired of life in the BADlands and set off on foot for the big city. In Chicago, the toddler learned how to live on a healthy diet of cardboard boxes and cat food. Raised by gangsters and hoodrats, Dolsen learned how to be tough and fight through both pain and fear. At the age of 4, Dolsen felt he had mastered the hood life and decided to become a Pokémon master. He spent this year of his life catching all 151 Pokémon and defeating the Elite Four numerous times, becoming the youngest Pokémon League Champion in history. The next ten years of David Dolsen’s life are undocumented and it is unclear how these years were spent. All that is known is that Dolsen ended up in the small town of Saline, Michigan around the age of 14 and had become excessively fat, barely being able to move. Entering high school, Dolsen stubbornly joined the cross country team at Saline, making the team only because he conveniently tripped at the start of the two mile time trial and rolled around the track fast enough to make the cut off time for the team. Drawing back on the lessons he learned in the ghettos of Chicago, Dolsen persevered through the daily grind of many cross country and track seasons, dropping his time and excess fat at an unprecedented rate. Dolsen’s hard work paid off as he dropped 6 minutes and 41 seconds between his first race as a freshman and his last race as a junior. Dolsen, elected as a captain for the 2010 cross country season, plans on pushing the team to achieve great things from the first man to the last.

Andrew Barnett
|

Andrew Barnett first appeared in the middle of a raging battle on the plains of Glorious Mother Russia, in which he helped turn the tide in favor of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, allowing them to defeat the Golden Horde. However, due to his mastery of the space-time continuum, his birth date remains unknown. Barnett is a time wizard, only staying in one time period in order to accomplish great things. In the past he has prevented several potential zombie apocalypses, including the Battle of Waterloo and World War III. Barnett was the sole catalyst for Chuck Norris’s resounding victory in 2012 for mayor of the world, which led to an era of unprecedented economic and social prosperity worldwide. At the same time, he prevented the Mayan super-apocalypse with a sideways glance and a witty remark. . By 2016, he had tired of politics and decided to move onto more important things. His final destination was the year 2007, which saw him compete as a freshman for Saline Cross Country. Over the past few years, he has used his time bending skills to alter the passage of time during races so that he may post faster times, although he still does train without time bending in order to reduce suspicion. His previous actions suggest that his coming to Saline is part of an elaborate plan to help the Cross Country team achieve excellence for all runners, no matter their role on the team.
